Stanage bay
Written By Rebecca bush
Stanage Bay is a tiny, remote fishing town north of Rockhampton that feels like a real hidden gem. With just a few small camps dotted along the coastline, it has that off-the-grid vibe and is perfect if you're looking to escape the crowds. We explored the rock pools and spotted some interesting sea creatures, which the kids loved. It’s a popular spot for keen fishermen, and while the road in is a bit rough and mostly dirt, the peaceful coastal views and laid-back atmosphere make it well worth the trip.
