Lara Wetlands
Lara Wetlands is a hidden gem in the heart of Outback Queensland, offering a peaceful escape surrounded by natural beauty. This spot features a beautiful artesian-fed lake, making it the perfect place to unwind, swim, or take a kayak out on the water. We loved the relaxed, outback atmosphere, with plenty of wildlife to spot and incredible sunsets over the wetlands. The rustic vibe and wide-open spaces make it a perfect stop for families seeking a true outback experience, with campfires allowed and starry night skies that are hard to beat. We were lucky enough to experience some live music and fresh-made damper by a couple traveling in their Winnebago while we were there—it was such a great experience!
