Airlie Beach

Airlie Beach is a beautiful coastal town that serves as the gateway to the stunning Whitsunday Islands. With its laid-back vibe, turquoise waters, and vibrant atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to relax or gear up for an adventure. We loved strolling along the waterfront, and the kids enjoyed the lagoon right at the beach. It’s free to use, and while they swam, we soaked up the gorgeous water views. We also enjoyed taking some dinner and a cheeky drink down to the esplanade and watching the sun go down. We based ourselves at the Island Gateway Holiday Park which It wasn’t far at all to the main esplanade.

Things to do-

  • Visit the lagoon for a swim

  • Take a stroll along the esplanade

  • Walk along main street

  • Do a day trip to white haven beach

  • Watch the sunrise at Hydeaway Bay

  • Book a private charter and sail around the Whitsundays ( We did this on another visit which I think deserves its own blog) hands down one of the best things we have done.

  • Grab some dinner and take it down to the water to watch the sun go down.
