We had a wonderful day trip to Bowen and absolutely loved the relaxed coastal charm it had to offer. With stunning beaches, scenic walks, and a few iconic stops, it was the perfect place to break up our travels.
Things to do in Bowen
Visit the iconic Big Mango for a fun photo op and a refreshing mango sorbet from the visitor centre.
Explore the Cape Edgecumbe Walking Trail – a scenic 2.5km walk with incredible views over Horseshoe Bay, Murrays Bay, and Rose Bay.
Swim or snorkel at Horseshoe Bay, known for its crystal-clear water and fringing reef just off the beach.
Stop in at one of the local cafés along the esplanade for a coffee or treat.
Grab some fresh local fish and chips – the perfect way to finish a coastal day out.
Bowen was a great stop on our journey through North Queensland – relaxed, friendly, and full of natural beauty.
