Little Blue Lake
The Little Blue Lake, just outside of Mount Gambier, is a beautiful natural sinkhole filled with crystal-clear groundwater that stays icy cold all year round—usually around 12 to 15 degrees Celsius. It’s a popular swimming spot in the warmer months, with steps and platforms making it easy to access. When we visited, it was cold and a bit overcast, so we didn’t brave the water, but it was still stunning to see. What makes it even more unique is that it’s just a big, round sinkhole in the middle of a paddock, it feels like you’ve stumbled across a hidden natural wonder.
